Tell me if time should make a change
Then why do I feel the same?

snakes and earrings

I'm currently reading the grossest book ever. I don't know why I'm even still reading it, but it's kind of interesting in an insanely grotesque way.

It all started like ten minutes ago when I decided that I didn't want to read some crappy fanfic written by a 11 year old, it was too late to watch an hour long episode of The Legend of the Brown Sugar Chivalries (random name but it's pretty good for an Asian drama and it's an hour long without ad breaks, like most Taiwanese dramas) and I felt like procrastination was much needed before working on my PDM assignment. So I decided to pull out the thinnest book (it's only like 100 pages long) on my brother's bookshelf that's right next to me.

It's called "Snakes and Earrings" and it's by some Japanese writer (I'm reading a translated version). Here's are very disturbing extract from it about getting a forked tongue (WARNING: DON'T READ IT IF YOU'RE ABOUT TO GO TO SLEEP):

Apparently you begin by getting your tongue pierced. You then gradually enlarge the hole by inserting bigger and bigger tongue rings. Then, when the hole has been stretched to a certain size, you tie dental floss or fishing line in tight loops running from the hole down the middle of the tongue. Finally, you cut the remaining part of the tongue that's still connected using either a scalpel or razor-blade. In fact some people don't even bother going through the whole pierce-and-tie process at all - they just slice their tongue in two with a scalpel.
